I was born in Cuxton, Kent, and educated at Rochester Grammar School. I moved back to Cuxton from Hertfordshire with my two young children in 1995, and encouraged by my new husband Barry, I chose to explore painting as a means of expression.
I attended various Painting, Sculpture, and Life Drawing classes at Rochester Adult Education Centre, under tutors such as Mary Nelson, Linda Smith, Roy Sparkes, Nick Tidnam RA, and Adrian Williams.
I work in a range of media, and being greatly involved in mankind I inevitably draw my inspiration from the human form.
I am inspired by the work of Pierre Bonnard, Paul Cezanne, Edgar Degas, Vincent Van Gogh, Edward Hopper, L.S.Lowry, Pablo Picasso, Joaquin Sorolla, Stanley Spencer, Henry Moore and Anthony Gormley, amongst others.
I have held solo exhibitions in Kent and Spain, and have had work in group exhibitions in Dover, Folkestone and Rochester. My work is in private collections in Germany, Hungary, Spain and the UK.
